I don’t agree that ISO 9001 obsolete. It is a Quality management systems andgeneric and are intended to be applicable to all organizations. It save cost and time. I think that It ‘s provide benefit.

ISO 9001 is most definitely not obsolete! This is a very interesting post though and good to consider the other points of view surrounding the certifications. Even if the ISO 9001 certification may seem out of date, it will always mean a lot to consumers as they recognise it as a mark of standard and quality.

‘never’ is a strong word and most certainly wrong.

And if you trust in the update mechanisms you should carefully consider the updates that happened from the :2000 to the :2008 version. The change was 100% only minor a changes in wording.

I agree that taking ISO 9001Certification can never be obsolete and will still applicable to quality control in the future. As we all know, ISO 9001 is continually being updated as they release there new version of their standard. With the help of new organizations or companies that have been newly certified in ISO 9001, new problems and complications arises as they apply the ISO 9001 standards. In result, it helps the ISO organization recognize the issues that the previous standard failed to focus on.

i dont think so that ISO 9001 is Obsolete…. The International Organization for Standardization is the world’s leading organization for standards development. The organization had developed the 9000 standard for quality management certification. According to the ISO website, the ISO 9000 Quality Management system standards cover four areas:

1. Customers’ quality requirements.
2. Applicable regulatory requirements.
3. Customer satisfaction.
4. Achievement of Continual Improvement of performance in pursuit of objectives.
